The Hayden Act was introduced by California Senator Tom Hayden and provides expanded protections for companion animals.
It is also known as California State Assembly Bill SB 1785. It went into law on July 1, 1999 and it expanded the minimum allowed impound time for sheltered animals to 4-6 days (instead of 72 hours).
In addition to his work as a DUI and drunking driving attorney, Dr. DUI Okorie Okorocha has successfully litigated a number of cases involving The Hayden Act which had the result of upholding these expanded rights for all impounded animals in California.
